BMWi Smartwatch app

How can we extend the BMWi3 design language to a wearable?

Overview

In order to connect users with their BMW i3 car in a higher level, BMW and Samsung made a cooperation to present the BMWi Remote Smartwatch app for Samsung Galaxy Gear at CES 2014 Fair in Las Vegas.

User benefit

The driver always knows the status of his car (even without being in the car).

Galaxy Gear shows status information of the all-electric BMW i3 and can trigger various remote functions.

Role

I delivered this showcase project from start to finish within a tight timeframe of 2 weeks.

- Leading the design process
- Translate the brief received from BMW
- Making the screen flows/information architecture
- Design of visual elements and screens
- Keeping the client contact
- Working with developers/delivering the assets
- Quality assurance, examining all use cases for the show, reviewing the updates
